We’re proud to share that AccessPay has been named the 23rd Best Workplace for Wellbeing™ in the UK in the medium business category by Great Place To Work® UK, climbing from 44th in 2024 to 28th in 2025 and now placing at 23rd.
This recognition is particularly meaningful because it reflects the experiences of our people. It’s based on employee feedback and celebrates organisations that are creating workplaces where individuals feel supported, valued and able to thrive.
At AccessPay, we know that wellbeing isn’t a one-size-fits-all concept. It’s about creating an environment where people feel comfortable bringing their whole selves to work, where support is available when it’s needed, and where colleagues genuinely care about one another’s success and wellbeing.
Being recognised on this list is a testament to the culture we’ve built together – one that prioritises psychological safety, encourages open conversations and supports people to be at their best, both inside and outside of work.
Creating an environment where people can thrive
At AccessPay, we recognise that wellbeing means different things to different people. For some, it’s having the flexibility to balance work and personal commitments. For others, it’s feeling supported through challenging periods, having access to resources that support mental and physical wellbeing, or simply working in a culture where they feel trusted, respected and able to be themselves. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we aim to create an environment where people can thrive both professionally and personally. As Jovita Adom, Office and Engagement Manager, explains:
“Supporting wellbeing is a key priority for me because psychological safety and personal wellbeing are fundamental to creating a happy and thriving workplace.
As part of my engagement work, I proudly serve as a Mental Health First Aider and am always available for anyone who would like a chat or a listening ear. Someone once told me that ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’, and that has stayed with me ever since. I firmly believe in the power of conversation and the difference that simply being heard can make.
Through our Office Committee, we also run regular Time to Talk sessions and other engagement initiatives that provide informal opportunities for colleagues to connect, share experiences and support one another. These initiatives help foster an open, supportive culture where people feel valued and heard.”
Supporting wellbeing through understanding and inclusion
While wellbeing initiatives are important, meaningful support often comes from the culture that surrounds them. For Adam Clowes, Senior Implementation Manager, wellbeing has been a passion throughout his career and something he actively sought out when joining AccessPay.Adam’s commitment to wellbeing is rooted in personal experience.“Wellbeing has been a passion of mine for many years. In previous roles I held positions as a Wellbeing Champion, and when I joined AccessPay, becoming a Mental Health First Aider was one of the first things I asked about because, for me, it matters that much.”
When Adam received his ADHD diagnosis, he experienced first-hand the support available at AccessPay.“I believe the emotional and psychological wellbeing of a person is every bit as important as the physical. That belief is personal. I’ve navigated my own mental health challenges, received an ADHD diagnosis and supported my wife through her own battles. Those experiences have shaped how deeply I value workplaces that genuinely prioritise their people.”
Today, Adam helps create that same experience for others.“What AccessPay gave me wasn’t just acknowledgement, it was a safe space. When I received my ADHD diagnosis, the business supported me in understanding how it affected me at work and invested in coaching to help me grow as a senior colleague with a neurological condition. That kind of support changes things.”
“It’s something I want to pay forward. As a Mental Health First Aider here, I take real pride in introducing our wellbeing culture to every new hire – often running the welcome sessions myself – so that from day one, people know this is a place that looks after them.”
A culture shaped by our people
One of the reasons this recognition is so meaningful is that it’s driven by employee feedback. Every colleague contributes to the culture we have today, whether that’s checking in on a teammate, supporting someone through a busy period, encouraging open conversations or helping to create an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up. Wellbeing isn’t owned by one team or one initiative. It’s something that’s shaped collectively through the actions and behaviours we demonstrate every day. As Jovita says:“Thank you to everyone who supports our wellbeing initiatives and our efforts to create a positive culture. It’s truly a team effort.”
Why this recognition matters
Being named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing™ is especially meaningful because it’s based on culture, leadership approach and, most importantly, anonymous employee feedback. It reinforces our commitment to creating an environment where:- wellbeing is actively prioritised and supported
- people feel safe, valued and included
- open conversations are encouraged
- individuals have the flexibility and support they need to thrive
Looking ahead
We’re incredibly proud of this recognition and even prouder of the people and stories behind it. As we continue to grow, we’ll keep listening, learning and evolving our approach to wellbeing, ensuring AccessPay remains a place where people feel supported, connected and empowered to succeed. As Adam reflects:Because creating a great workplace isn’t just about helping people perform at their best. It’s about helping them feel their best too.“Being recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing is something I’m genuinely proud of. It reflects a culture we’ve built together – and one I’m committed to championing.”
